Is a judge required to set a time limit for discovery and a witness list, before trial?Is a FOC 7(Notice Of Hearing) the same as a motion hearing?

Re: time lines

The notice of hearing is a notice you send your opponent to let them know the motion date. Judges per Supreme Court dictates must dispose of their cases within a certain time frame. Each judge has discretion as to how much time they allow for discovery, etc. Local court rules also determine these issues. Bill Stern
