Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Transportation

My ex girlfriend has custody of our 3yr old daughter. She lives in Jackson, Mi and I live near Petoskey, Mi. It was agreed in court to split the transportation and meet halfway when i get parenting time. All of my ex girlfriends family lives here in the Petoskey area. If she is coming up here to see her family and to pick up our daughter, am I obligated to drive all the way down to Jackson the next time I want to see my daughter. Keep in mind that my ex girlfriends main goal is to come up here to see her family. Thank you

Re: Transportation

If there is an agreement and a court order and she is unwilling to agree to modify your arrangement, you will need to file a motion with the Friend of the Court to modify the parenting time arrangement. Short of that, the current arrangement if court ordered is binding. For more info, please contact my office at (248)851-3171.
