Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan
If you buy a building and there is a vending machine in it and you call repeatedly and ask them to remove and they do not come and get it and you just set it outside and someone comes by and takes it are you leagaly respoonable

Not if you can prove that it was "abandoned" by the owner, and/or that you gave them actual notice to retrieve it, such as by registered mail, as well as a reasonable amount of time to respond to your request. The owner of the machine will have to convince a court that setting the machine outside was either intentional, or negligent and/or without regard to your duty of safekeeping their equipment, and that your actions caused their loss.
