Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Michigan

Invasion of Privacy/secret video recording

I discovered a video tape of my husband and I having sex. We are now divorced. The tape was made without my knowledge. I can't find anything that says I don't have rights to sue him and/or charge him with invasion of privacy. I would like to know if there is an attorney who would be interested in taking this case. I don't have a lot of money. I live in Ottawa County, Michigan. Thank you!

P.S. I have the only tape (original) in a safe.

Re: Invasion of Privacy/secret video recording

This is a difficult case. Even if meritorious, you would have to establish damages. This might be the toughest part. By suing, the video tape may be public record. You should consider this as well.
