Legal Question in Insurance Law in Michigan

Uninsured driving Insured vehicle-HELP!!

I was involved in a car accident when i was visiting NJ to my cousin's place, the car i was driving was my cousins at the time of accident

& i dont have car nor an auto insurance in Michigan, the police found it was my fault and given me a ticket for ''careless driving'', i wanted to plead not guilty but the prosecutor said that if i plead guilty my points will be lowered and i have to give my civil reservation which i did not unders that meant and pleaded GUILTY in the court.

But now i have learnt that the other driver is suing for his medical bills and car, My only concern now is if he sues who will it be Me or My cousins insurance company, as i was not listed on his insurance then i fear will he come to me and do i need to pay from my pocket. Please Advice

you will be covered by the onwers insurance. It is possible that his rates may rise, but any licensed driver is coveredc by the vehicle he is driving.

His insurance company will defend you as long as you had his permission to drive the car. The lawsuit will name you as a defendant and the insurance company will provide you an attorney. If you wish to discuss this further, call 732-286-2170.
