Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Michigan

consentual hearing

my son has a consentual hearing and io was told by the courts he does need a lawyer , i need to find out what type of hearing this is and if i should contact a lawyer. He is being accused of grabbing a 9 year ol between the legs 2 years ago when he was13

It sounds like you are referring to a juvenile case in which the prosecutor has offered to place on the consent calendar meaning that your son will go through an informal probation. This is usually offered for 1st-time misdemeanor offenders. If the terms of the probation are completed, the case is dismissed. If not, the court can transfer the case to the formal calendar and there will be a pre-trial conference.
