Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan

Hi, my fiance and I moved into our apartment on April 8, 2010 and we have to terminate our 1 year lease. I was wondering if there is any way to do that without any fees. When we first moved in the manager was embezzling rent money when payed in cash, and we were affected by that. She also stole all of our paperwork, so she got fired and we had to come in 3 times to refill out paperwork because they kept loosing it. Then after we redid are lease for the day we moved in April 8th, they put that we moved in May 12th instead. Also I am allergic to cigarette smoke and the lady under us continues to smoke in the building and we continue to tell the manager, but she does nothing.

Thank you,

Ashley

If the smoker below you is causing you to have medical problems, and being exposed to carcinogens, then you may have good cause to move. Take your lease to an attorney, or request a different unit that doesn't have smokers nearby. By the way, why did you sign a document that had an obviously incorrect inception date on it?
