Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

My mother who is on SSI due to the fact she has the mentality of a 9th grader, went to a dealership and purchased a car in both of our names so she could drive using her permit. The papers were drawn up and insurance placed on the car. I was supposed to come to the dealership on monday to sign the papers and drive the car away. The dealership instead delivered the car to my unlicensed mother, while keeping the paper work still requiring my signatures at the dealership. My mother drove this car and totaled it out today. Do I have a case for negligence?
