Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

My vehicle was hit while parked at my job. The driver was also an employee driving a company vehicle. The repairs will leave me without a vehicle for up to 4 days and I don't have rental car coverage on my own insurance. My employer's insurance company is stating I need to notify my own insurance carrier and report the incident but I fear this will raise my insurance costs. Is this true? I also want to know if my employer is liable for providing me with substitute transportation. It would effect me financially because I can't afford it and I also work a second job so I would be losing time from both.

As long as your car was legally parked, it is a simple property damage claim against the driver or owner of the car that hit you. Because it was property damage and not collision coverage, the insurer has to pay loss of use (ie- rental car). Your insurer should have absolutely nothing to do with it.
