When doing a quitclaim deed, does the document have to have the seal or is it alright for the notary to just sign?

A seal is not required for in Michigan deeds. You will, however, need the proper exemption codes if you are trying to avoid transfer taxes at recording. An attorney should properly draft the deed for you to be recordable. Tim Klisz kliszlaw.com
