I am assuming you have opened a new probate estate and a bank account for that estate. Generally you will add all liquid assets to the estate bank account. So, for example, if the person who died had bank accounts, mutual funds, etc., those accounts would be transferred to the estate account. Any insurance payable to the estate would also be deposited in the estate bank account.

You are correct that the house can't go into a bank account. However, if the house is sold, the sale proceeds would be deposited in the estate bank account. Good luck.
