My husband has been ill for a very long time and has a lot of unpaid medical bills. He recently passed away. My question is am i still responsable for paying these,

I'm sorry to hear about your husband. Your question raises many other questions (What were your husband's assets? How were they titled?). You should sit down with an attorney who handles probate & asset protection and talk about the details - it will be well worth your while.
