Illegitment Compensation

If it can be proven (by DNA analysis or other means)that my grandfather was the illegitiment son of a wealthy man and his family is still very wealthy and prominent today, would my father and I be entitled to any kind of compensation?

Re: Illegitment Compensation

It matters how the wealth was transferred. If a will said it was transferred to his or her "son" and he was the "son", then he'd be entitled. However, you may run into time constraints and it may be impossible to reopen an estate after a long lapse of time. William S. Stern
