damage to dog kennel service

I boarded my dogs at a proffessional kennel. The pup ripped up some linoleum at the kennel and the want me to pay for it. I didn't sign a contract am I liable for damage when it is a proffessional kennel?

Liabilty for the damages is not clear. However, it could certanly be argued that the Kennel bears the responsibility since they had the responsibility to supervise and care for the animal. They would likely be hard pressed to seek a payment barring some agreement, either by contract or posted notice, to the contrary.
