Re: sex crime

Thank you for your inquiry.

A charge of criminal sexual conduct is very serious and often carries with it lengthy prison sentences, supervised release periods and requires any person convicted to register as a sexual offender for ten years or more.

In such cases, the evidence is often weak. Charges will often hinge on the testimony of one person, the victim. As a result, it is important to conduct a thorough investigation to look for inconsistent statements ofr conductiun order to undermine the credibility of the witness. That generlly means employing a private investigator.

Unfortunately, legal representation on such matters is not inexpensive. Preparation of the case, including critical pretrial motions can be extremely time intensive.

Re: sex crime

If he already plead guilty then in order to fight the charge anew he would have to (with a lawyer's help) make a motion to the court to withdraw his guilty plea. The legal standard for this is more stringent, if he has already been sentenced. Time is of the essence. Every day that passes will make it less likely such a motion could prevail. Sex crime cases are big cases, with big consequences. No good lawyer would be willing to do one cheaply. The result obtained tends to reflect the time and work put in, which is reflected in the fees charged. See my website, and call me for further information.
