can my son be arrested on just someones word?

after a local drug bust one of the guys arrested, gave the cops my sons name as one of his dealers, now the D.E.A. has approached my son asking him to help them out in catching other guys involved and on other cases,threatning him with prison time if he does'nt, if he does'nt do they really have a case against him just on what this kid said?

The short answer to the question in your subject line is, "yes." Being arrested and being convicted are two very different things, though.

Drugs cops make a living threatening people to scare them into working for them. People lacking legal representation generally are used by drug cops, and in the end being far worse off for it. The best defense against that is to retain a good criminal defense, drug lawyer for counsel and representation -- anytime contact by police has been made or could be imminent. There are numerous effective techniques for protecting yourself from drug cops. Police can lie with impunity, with court approval, and do so often. They cannot be trusted. The cannot make a deal that they can be held to, without a lawyer's involvement. Call me if you wish to make an appointment to discuss.
