Legal Question in Criminal Law in Minnesota

I have a stay of adjudication on an underage consumption and it says something about remain law-abiding. I got a careless driving ticket a few weeks ago and I'm wondering if that is going to make me get convicted of the drinking charge. The way I understood it from my attorney was that it would only be same or similar.

If the condition is "remain law abiding," then it's possible they will violate your probation and seek to convict you of the crime. On the other hand, it's possible that it goes unnoticed all together. The court may also have a practice of only looking for same or similar offenses. Best to retain an experienced attorney right away. Keep this new offense off your record and it may save you from an probation violation too. Good luck.

You should be discussing your concerns with your attorney as she/he should know the full facts as well as anyone. I suggest you read the terms and conditions of your present probation.
