Sister has Power of Attorney for father

Our elderly dad is in a nursing home against his will after having a heart attack. He was told has was going for rehab, which lastet only 4 days. The oldest of 3 daughters has POA and has made the decision on her own that he will remain in the home. Dad has some dementia. Alsheimers has not been diagosed. The other two sisters want:

1. Financial accounting of dads assets

2. To allow dad to return home with in-house help or go to an assisted living center

What legal rights do we have to make our dad happy and comfortable in his old age?

I assume your father is in Minnesota. You need to hire a lawyer to review the health-care power of attorney, or similar document that is being used, review whether a durable power of attorney is also in place, and then discuss your options with you.

Much can often also be done by speaking with the treating physician and the social worker at the nursing home.
