Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Divorce Debts

The question that I have is that my current wife and I are going through the process of a Divorce in the state of Minnesota. We filed a joint petition for the divorce, split custody of our son, and allocated debts and assets. We signed this paperwork and filed a week or so ago.

What I am wondering is what happens if there is a debt that was not listed or discussed during the process. There was a medical bill that came in and is under on of our names, and the insurance company is claiming it was not a medical necessity and not wanting to pay it. We have disputed the claim, and even provided documentation of the requirement for the service.

What happens in regards to this debt in the event that they ultimately do not cover the expense. Who is responsible?

If it was not ncluded is some way in the couryt order, it is an unresolved issues that must be agreed upon by the parties or brought back to court.
