Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Engagement ring rights

My ex-fiance and I have broke up. He at 1st told me I could have my ring- he gave me the certificate on it and everything (I currently have possession of it and have since we split). Things are getting nasty with us and he is saying he wants it back- does he have any right to it? I have the diamond and the certificate to it (which isn't even in his name, it is in the past owners name- who happens to be my brother-in-law). Who has the rights to the ring? My ex, me, or m y brother-in-law?

Re: Engagement ring rights
