Legal Question in Family Law in Minnesota

Terminate physical visitation or not??

I have a child with a woman that I have never married. I am currently married to another. The mother has sole physical custody. I have reasonable parenting time. I have tried very hard to create a consistent visitaion schedule many times. The mother has agreed every time. She has also agreed to let my wife mediate between us so that we don't argue. The mother will follow the schedule that we have agreed apoun for about 2 weeks, than tell me that i can't see her again. Three or four months will go by than she'll call me up and tell me to come and get her. so I will. This has been happening for two years now. My 2 year old daughter does not know me and seems real confused. The mother is always playing mind games like these. She has also stalked me and my wife in the past and threatened us. I just want to know if I should press for visitation or just back off, let mom raise her while I stay in contact by phone and letters only? I fear that if I push for visitaion that it will always be like it is now and that my daughter will grow up possibly hateing both me, my wife and her mother. What do you sugest?

Re: Terminate physical visitation or not??

The court can establish a specific visitation schedule, which can be enforced in a number of ways, such as by the appointment of a parenting time expeditor, contempt, etc. In appropriate cases, courts can also issue restraining orders against harassment and abuse.
