Legal Question in Intellectual Property in Minnesota

non compete

My employer came out with a non compete agreement in July 2007, They gave us a deadline and said we would lose our jobs if we did not have it signed by a certain time. I chose not to sign the agreement and put in my resignation. I found out a few months later that the non compete was not legal in the state of MN because they did not offer compensation. And the company retracted the agreement to all of the employees and made it voluntary with $250 compensation if they signed the new agreement. Now I'm out of a job for an agreement was not legal, is there any action I can take?

Re: non compete

I would take the position that you were wrongfully coerced into resigning. Having fought NC battles, you correctly state the law re: midstream agreements.

Call or email for consultation on seeking legal redress of this.
