Professional Photograph
I know that it is against the law to produce copies of professional photographs. If I digitize a professional photo to use in a personal electronic photo album (like adding to my palm pilot) is this also a violation?

If it is SOLELY for your personal use, and will not be published or offered for sale in any manner, you are safe. Go to the US Copyright office website on what is "fair use".
