Notice to move out without a new lease
We had a lease, which we refused to renew because it was 8 to 10 pages long. Moreover, the lease was so slanted in the landlord�s favor that I said, �No, I will not sign it.
Now, it�s my understanding that if landlord keeps accepting rent after the lease ends, then we (renters) rent month-to-month.
So, here�s what I would like to know. On the lease it said that we had to give a 60 day notice before we moved out. The landlord said that the 60 day notice is still in effect. However, now, because we are month-to-month renters, I think we are only required to give a 30-day, move-out notice by law. Right or wrong?

You are correct that if there is no written lease in place and the old lease has expired, it is considered a month to month lease.
