Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Minnesota

slander?

My former landlord is beyond anal and gets law-suit happy so I just want to know before hand if it can be considered slander to write a bad review. He is a private owner/landlord. Can he do anything leagally to me if he doesn't like the bad review I write

Re: slander?

It is generally not worth the risk. That notwithstanding, it depends on what you include in your so called review. Any incorrect information that is of a factual nature can be defamatory. Pure opinion, however, is protected speech.

Even if the review is not defamatory, it does not preclude the landlord from filing suit or you from retaining an attorney to defend, regardless of how frivolous the suit may be.
