i left a message and they gave me a warrent

i had court for driving after revacation and called the court administration the day of, i got the # out of the phone book. when i called a message picked up right away so i left a message saying that i wasnt going to be able to make it and to please call me back and let me know the next court date. i never got a call so i had a friend of mine go pay my fine and they said the person i called was out of town and i have a warrent , nobody got my message. so if the person is out of town shouldnt they redirect the call so i could talk to someone else?? what should i do is there a way to get out of paying the 200$ warrent fee or what should i do???

You can't just make a phone call when you are supposed to be in court and expect that this will ever turn out OK.

You need to stop trying to represent yourself and get a lawyer. Every move you make, you are digging yourself in deeper. On your own, with a warrant out there, the only thing to do is to turn yourself in. If you do it early in the morning, you perhaps might get through the booking process in time to see a judge that same morning. The judge will probably set bail, since you failed to appear as ordered before. So have a buddy lined up to bail you out, or make advance arrangements with a bail bondsman.

OR hire a lawyer. The lawyer might be able to smooth this over in advance with the prosecutor - depending on the circumstances of your case. There is a possibility that the warrant could be quashed and the matter just put back on the court calendar.
