Car Transfer

Can an executor of a will transfer title of an automobile into their name and claim it as their property?

The owner of the automobile passed away.

Well, yes I suppose.

The executor has authority to do anything that the dead person could have done if he or she had not died.

Whether the executor should have done that, whether it was the proper thing to do, is a whole other question ; and you haven't provided me enough info to answer that one.
