These and many more were actually formal, written, and "codified" laws. In some places, they may still even be technically "on the books" though they have been invalidated and are no longer enforceable. Also, many other legal documents, such as leases and deeds were recorded in the land records, and remain so, which contain so-called "restrictive covenants" (which forbade selling the property to blacks, jews, etc.) -- these have been invalidated by the courts and are no longer enforceable.
