legal help needed

My son mother is now dating this guy whom i had a fist fight with a few months before they started dating he now is making threats toward me i feel threaten that he might do something to my child to get back at me. I have told the police and they claim its nothing they can do until he harms my son what can i do legally to protect my son. Because i dont want to end up in trouble if push come to shove. I dont feel like my son is safe around him with the threats toward me he might harm my son to get even with me

If your child is in danger of abuse, you should contact the Miss. Department of Human Services. Additionally, consider having the divorce judgment amended to require the mother to keep the man away from your son. You will need to prove a substantial and material change in circumstances that has an adverse impact on your son.
