Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

reembersment for premiums on ins.

My divorce papers state that my ex-husband is to reemberse me for my ins. premiums since I carry the ins. on our children and he is suppose to pay half of any out of pocket expenses not covered. He hasnt pd. anything. He is also behind in his child support. When his mother passes away, her house is to be sold and split between him and his brother and sister. Is there any way to put a lein on his part of the money now even though his mother is still living?

Re: reembersment for premiums on ins.

You cant put a lien on something he does not (or may not ever) own. His mother may live longer than all of us or she may get mad and cut him out of her will.

If he is not following the final decree, take him back to court for contempt. He will very likely be responsible for all court cost and your attorney fees. Also, if he continues to defy the orders of the Court, they will put him in jail until he does. This is usually a very good incentive for people to do as they should.
