Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Mississippi

Being sued for property damage in auto accident.

While in Florida visiting family, my car was used without my consent or knowledge in Mississippi. The vehicle was involved in an accident that left it and a department store widow damaged and my insurance won't cover the damages. Now, I need to know the best course of action to take is. How do I inform the police & the store (most likely filing a civil suit) of the circumstances surrounding the incedent to inform them that I shouldn't be liable. How can I dispute any actions law enforcement will take because i'm the owner of thwe vehicle.
