Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Mississippi

My lawyer fail in his obligations

I hired an attorney to represent me in a felony case where my vehicle was seized. He had 30 days to file contestment papers. I was assured by the attorney that the signed papers had been filed. Upon recieving a Declaration of Forfeiture, I learned no such papers had been filed. I contacted my attorney and he re-assured me all papers had been filed. My attorney will not respond to my calls. I have lost the attorneys fees plus the value of my vehicle. Now what do I do? Please help.

Thank You!
