Another Officer Enlisted Marriage Question

I have known my fiance for 6 years from back in college. I joined the USMC about a year ago, enlisted. She decided to Join the USAF as an officer. We have been together prior to her joining and been planning on getting married prior to her joining. However, we decided to wait untill we were both done witht raiing and are getting married in Jan. of 2005. Now my question is will this constitue as fratinization? She will never be in my chain of command and thus I cant see it causing ''prejudical'' treatment. Also what are the rules of getting stationed together? Thanks

Re: Another Officer Enlisted Marriage Question

Once you're married, the idea of fraternization is gone. However, it will be difficult to get stationed together, though it can be done.

Re: Another Officer Enlisted Marriage Question

Technically your relationship could be considered one of fraternization at this point in time. Marriage does not cure prior fraternization. This is not meant to alarm you and so long as the relationship is discreet, no one will likely comment upon it. However, the possibility always exists that a nosy person tries to determine whether a relationship between officer and enlisted existed prior to the marriage (this situation is fairly unlikely, but always possible).

As far as getting stationed together, I agree with Neal, it's possible, but it will be difficult, as you will be working with the assignments teams of two different services.
