Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Mississippi

Divorce decree required life insurance

My divorce decree required a life insurance policy be left with my minor child as beneficiary. When the child's father died, his father was named beneficiary. The grandfather did not give the child the amount decreed in the divorce papers. An estate was never opened. The death occured six years ago. Is there anything I can do now, to secure the amount for my child.
