Legal Question in Business Law in Missouri

What recourse do I have? As an older adult, I returned to school. I applied for and received financial aid, the career college gets their money, but I am being 'short changed' in education. I am in nursing..our skills lab did not have the appropriate equipment, we had to 'pretend' we had the equipment. The instructors have created a volatile situation by being condescending to students, not lecturing but simply reading the information from a powerpoint word for word. Our A & P class final consisted of 20 questions and the instructor literally gave us the answer. Clinicals are now during the week, one night. Yet all of us have some sort of documentation showing clinicals are on Saturday only. Students who have complained, myself included, have had to face the resulting fall out. They think nothing about throwing in a movie instead of lecturing. Their policy basically states that if we are there on the fifth day of the term they get to keep most of the money.

They also failed to disclose that even if you pass all the classes, you still have to pass the schools exam at the end of the program to graduate.

One of the worst things that occured is the ADON came into our class and told us we needed to get a gmail account (so we had an account specifically for a testing center to send results) but we were told we had to give them the email address and password. We have it in writing the school needed this info only in case a student forgot their password. I didn't do this, but another student did and now has proof via IP address that someone from the school went into her account.

Thanks

Sorry but I have no idea what area of law this would fit in.

Most media report that nursing is one of the career fields that will sustain throught dips in the economy. Using that infor, ation, many schools both good and bad recruited students. I do not know if your school is a financial aid scam, like so many that have popped up agsin, but it sounds like it might. You shoudl continue to complain about the facilities, and lack of equipment, if they are different than what was advertised or promised.

Anatomy and Physiology classes and teachers are very variable. some practically give you the answers, whiel others treat the 100 level classesa s though yrou already have BS in biolody. You should look your instructors up on ratemyprofessor.com to see what others reported about them. If previous students complained about haow easy teh curricular is, then you will learn something. If they are nto even listed there, then you will learn a lot.

Gmasil is generic web based email. Although it is strange that you woudl not get student accoutn through the schools server, it is nto unheard of for students to use oen for getting their grades. It is unclear why you woudl need to give the password out to anyone else. If you do, do not use that accoutn for anythign other than the grades from this school.

If you do not get satisfaction through the school, then you should complain to the board that the school has its accreditation through. They appear to be correct, if you stay after five class periods, then they can keep your finaincial aid money, even if you drop the class. You did not inidcate what certifications you will get for completing the program at this school. Will you be an LPN, RN or what?

Good luck
