Credit bureau report

last year as my then 20 yr old grandson got out of trade school and began a new job wanted to buy a car was turned down because of bad credit since we knew the only thing that could be on it was a sallie mae loan paid early and extra each month we we baffled so i did an annual report, it seems back when he was a high school junior he broke his jaw playing football not associated with his school went to the hospital this was on his dad's insurance, a paper was mailed to his dad from their insurance wanting to know if this was from an auto accident the paper was sent back stating ,''no''.. well the hospital either dropped the ball or the insurance and they came back on my grandson on his credit report, he was never sent anything about this so it came as a complete suprise, my daughter says the only thing they ever received was from the hospital just weeks after the insrance denied the claim because of age was a letter from the hospital asking them to again call insurance to see if they could get somewhere. i called the collection agency the hospital sold the bill to and asked how they could do that and very rudedy was told we will do what ever we want to collect a bill. please help ,.

Your grandson needs to both raise an issue with the insurance company and challenge the listing on his credit report. This two-fold process is probably the best method, short of paying the debt, to free him of the mar on his credit.
