Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Missouri

What can we do to get our money?

My husband and I started working for this company about a month ago. The CEO had just recently started the company, but he claimed to have capital and investors so we agreed to work for him. The first week or so was great, we enjoyed the work and we got our paycheck and deposited it in the account. The next week when we were supposed to get paid again he sat us down and told us that an investors check had bounced so we wouldn't be getting another paycheck and that it was possible our other check had bounced as well.

Fast forward a month, our account is over $800 overdrawn and closed. Our rent is past due and we're about to be evicted. Our Car payments overdue etc. And it turns out there never were any investors or any capital. He lied to us and he owes us over $3000 combined.

Does anyone have any advice on legally what we can do to get our money. Or at least get this guy for what he's done?

Re: What can we do to get our money?

Your CEO is, among other things, in breach of contract. You definitely have remedies and you can definitely go after him in Court.

Please feel free to contact us to discuss your option further.
