I signed a lease with my boyfriend at the time to help him out. I did not live with him but trusted him to pay the bills. We broke up and he bailed out on thepayments and now Im stuck with them. Is there any way to get my money back?

Yes. You can file an action for indemnity agaisnt him. I don't know how much money you're talking about, but if its under 3000 you can go to small claims court and simply ask the court for a judgment against him based on the doctrine of indemnity because you made good on a debt and he has been unjustly enriched by not having to pay it. If you get a judgment, you then have to collect either by garnishing his wages or by garnishing his bank account. If more than 3000, you need to talk to an attorney.
