If you are picked up on a domestic violence and took to jail on 24 hour hold are you charged with the crime

In many of these cases, they release the individual from the hold, and then at a later date either arrest that individual or serve the individual with a summons to appear in court to face criminal charges. In other cases, it may be possible that the authorities do not file criminal charges.
