Re: name change

You may legally change the child's name through a relatively simple and inexpensive procedure resulting in a Court Order directing the Department of Health to change the name on your child's birth certificate. First, we file a Petition seeking to have you named "Next Friend" of the child by the Court for the purpose of prosecuting the lawsuit. Then we file the Petition in Court asking the Judge to Order the name change. There will be a need to serve the child's father and also publish a legal notice several times per statute, and, there will be a court appearance required. I have handled many of these and would be happy to provide you with a free telephone consulation.
