Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Can I get my name taken off credit cards that my ex is responsible for? We each incurred 1/2 of the debt in our divorce, but the cards she has still have my name on them as primary. She took a cash advance on one in Sep 2008 and we had been divorced for 5 months. What can I do to absolve my name of these debts that are her responsibility? How can I get the $500 back that she advanced after the divorce?

Why in the world didn't you cancel all credit cards in both names prior to or at least at the time of the divorce? It's probably not too late to contact the credit card lenders and advise that you want to remove your name due to the divorce even if it means closing the account. In regards to getting any money back from your ex-wife, you should request it and allow her an opportunity to repay you without forcing you to take her back to court. The attorney's fees would be far more than the amount in controversy.
