Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

After meeting up with an ex of mine, i found out we had a daughter together. I petitioned her to paternity and established the child was mine. I was told by the paternity worker that the next step was up to me. What should my next step be if i would like to have my daughter on weekends?

You need to file a Motion for a Cusody and Visitation Order. Obvously, this will probably also address child support payments.

Good luck

If you are not presumed to be the legal father of the child through the filing of an Affidavit of Paternity, or determined to be the legal father of the child through an administrative action for child support through the Division of Family Support, or judicially determined to be the legal father through a Court Order, then you would need to file a Petition in the Circuit Court in the county where the child resides, seeking a Judgment declaring you to be the legal father of the child and providing you with whatever custody rights you may be entitled to considering the best interests of the child and other relevant factors. I have handled many of these cases in the thirty-one years I have been practicing law, and I would be happy to offer you a free telephone consultation. If I can not help you myself, I will be happy to help you find someone who can.
