Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

My wife of 27 years has decided I no longer fulfill her needs. I stopped giving her money.

She has decided to get a divorce. I agreed to an uncontested divorce because I have no money.

She has served me the papers. I am totally lost on what these papers say or mean. I know she is using them to try to take advantage of me,

I do not know if what she is telling me about the papers is true or not.

She would not even tell me when it is going to court I had to look it up on the internet.

I have been laid off for almost a year, So I have no money. I called legal aid and they said they could help filling out the papers or if I wanted to accuse my soon to be ex of abuse they would help otherwise I am out of luck.

I am totally lost in this process. I don't know what to do or when to do it.

Can I contest this?

If so what do I need tp do?

Is there any way to understand these papers?

What do I need to do or read about this process

You need to hire an attorney. If you do not then I can almost guarantee that you will regret it sooner or later, and probably sooner. Borrow the money you need to hire an attorney. You will save many times more than whatever amount you borrow. If you can not borrow any money, then sell something you own. If you have been laid off for a year why don't you have another job?

You have thirty days from the day that you were served the summons to file a written response in court and provide your wife's attorney with a copy. You should have an attorney do this for you. If you fail to respond proply, the other side will take a default and proceed with the Dissolution, probably taking you for everything, after all the attorey represents your wife.
