Legal Question in Immigration Law in Missouri

criminal law?immigration

i am a legal permanent resident in the united states,i am not sure if i have a warrant of arrest out for me.So how do i find that out?

Secondly,if do not have a warrant of arrest for me,can i still be arrested at the port of entry without a warrant out for my arrest?

Is there such thing as a sealed warrant?if yes,is it possible for a lawyer to find this out or is it sealed from lawyers too?The reason i am asking this is because i am out of the united states right now and i do not want to be arrested at the port of entry on my way back or inshort,i want to be prepared with an attorney etc.

Re: criminal law?immigration

You should contact a criminal attorney first, who can help you investigate if there is an open warrant for your arrest. Reentering the United States in such circumstances is always a risk, since there is a risk that ICE could detain you, even though you have a green card. The second issue to consider is whether your criminal history affects your lawful permanent residency. There are many offense that render you inadmissible to the United States if you leave the country after being convicted. So you should really discuss this situation in more detail with experienced attorneys to see whether your lawful status maybe at risk.

If you wish to consult with us on your immigration situation, we would be happy to discuss in more detail. We have many years of experience in criminal immigration issues.

Best wishes!
