Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Missouri

A landlord cannot lawfully physically shut off the water, except for temporarily to make repairs. But, if your lease requires you to have water service in your name, the landlord can close the water service account in their name. That would effectively shut the water off, until you open an account in your name.
