Legal Question in Product Liability in Missouri

Chemical damaged liver

20 years ago I used a farm chemical that I feel damaged my liver. I used the precautions that the label advised while mixing the chemicals. I did not wear the protective clothing, eye googles, and respirator while spraying the chemicals from my tractor with cab and a/c. The doctors said there was no relationship between the chemicals and my liver disease. A little over 2 years ago my doctor at that time said that it was the chemicals. I looked on the internet and found research that documents that the chemical can cause liver damage. My liver disease is usually heritary and occurs in females age 55 and older. I was 35 when I got the disease, no one else in my family tree has ever had this, and I am a male. I had an operation a year ago in June and the surgeon commented that although I had been labeled as having a liver disease he thought that it was probably chemical damage. What is my recourse? I had a liver transplant in March of this year and I feel much better than I have in many years, but its not a bed of roses. I don't think I will ever regain my thinking abilities.

Re: Chemical damaged liver

If you can establish causation between your disease and the chemical, you may be able to pursue a lawsuit. If you were at work, you may also have a workers compensation claim. You also have a statute of limitations problem. I would need further information to determine if you would be able to proceed with a lawsuit. You should contact an attorney immediately to discuss a potential case.
