Legal Question in Workers Comp in Missouri

My son was accidentally stuck by a needle that was in the trash at his job (fast food) his employers is giving him a hard time about reporting and going to a doctor. They have told him since he does not have symptoms if he goes to a doctor it is at his expense not theirs. What is the protocol for some thing like this?

Which is more important, your Son's health or his relationship with his fast food employer? If you or yoru Son are worried that he may have been infected with someothing, get him to a doctor yesterday. If it is merely the injury form the needle prick that concers you, then it is just like any other work comp claim. He has thiryt day s to inform his employer, and a reasonable amount of time to seek medical care. That tiem may have already expired, as you did nto indicate how long ago he got stuck. If his employer is large enough to fall under Work comp guidelines, they have already noted the inury and your Son may get the medical bills he has already incurred, paid for or reimpused by the employer. If you are still concerned, go see a work comp attorney in person. Many offer a free or low cost initial consultation.

Good luck
