I agree with Mr. Aspinwall--there will be a record. Even if you end up with a "deferred" sentence which theoretically is "errased" at the end of the deferred period, your record will show the charge, will show it was dismissed, which any cop reading it will know was probably a plea bargain and a deferred sentence. Very rarely do cops read those records as meaning the suspect really didn't do "it", just somehow "beat" getting a conviction. You live in a police state. Do not forget that.

Yes. The arresting agency will have a police report and booking sheet on file, both of which are public record. The court in which you are charged will also have a file on the charges against you, and this is public record, also.
