percurring to a minor

on march 3 at my place of employment a minor was sent in to buy alcohol i unfortunately sold to this minor, the minor left, then an undercover officer came in and said i just sold to a minor, he took my information and said "he would not be arrestingmeand that i would receive a citation in the mail".I have been told that the officer should of returned with the minor and confirmed what went on, he didn't, is this true? Also, i have been told that no officer can knowingly send a minor in to commit this crime, is this true?

Possible entrapment on a minor's charge

Have you received the citation yet? Consult with a local Nebraska atty when and if you receive the citation. The law develops at a different pace in each state. Read the statute for entrapment in your state. Courts interp[ret statutes, they do not enact them. Courts can interpret them only if cases brought under those statutes. Depending on the tools you have, you can do a modicum of self-education. For instance, you can look at the "annotations" that appear under the entrapment statute. You can look in the Nebraska West Digest under entrapment. You can find these in a local free library or at the law library of a local law school. You may even be able to find them on the Web. Take a look. Good luck!
