Legal Question in Insurance Law in Nebraska

A Question No Attorney Will Answer

If I'm involved in a motor vehicle accident and hire an attorney to represent me, can the insurance company contact me after the attorney has notified them that I'm his/her client?

If they do contact me, what recourse do I or my attorney have against them?

Is there a law or rule that specifically states the insurance company cannot contact me once I've turned my claim over to an attorney? If so what and where is it?

Have your attorney review your state's Fair Claims Settlement Regulations. How insurers are to handle claims is set forth there. If your lawyer files a designation with the insurer, I doubt if any communications will be directed to you. It can be an unfair claims practice to do so.
